Beyond Physical Therapy is a new physical therapy clinic in Decatur, GA on a mission to reintroduce humanity and compassion back into the healthcare industry.
While the clinic’s authentic reputation drove traffic through word of mouth, Beyond PT was at a competitive disadvantage due to a lack of an online presence.
I was asked to implement a user-centered site design reflecting the authentic mission behind Beyond PT, with an emphasis on accessibility and seamless content structure.

Brainstorming Inclusivity
Beyond PT’s limited online visibility, specifically not having a website, hindered the clinic’s potential to reach and connect with a broader audience in the local community.
This obstacle was impeding the growth and success of Beyond PT by leading potential patients to competitors that had more accessible information.

We began the project with a stakeholder brainstorming session to understand Beyond PT’s direction and the identity it should embody for a lasting site design.

Three Major Pain Points:
- Complex navigation and information overload
- Lack of accessibility and screen responsiveness
- Although online scheduling and support features are helpful, existing processes are inadequate
Putting the Pieces Together
Our qualitative data allowed us to create an initial user journey to fuel our site map, addressing expectations and existing pain points for patients.
With a complete outline via the site's information architecture, I began designing the new Beyond Physical Therapy website.

I started by creating a small design system for the website to ensure lasting consistency with future updates and iterations.

I chose a blue and white color scheme, based on the logo, to create a soothing atmosphere that reflects the clinic's professional yet compassionate nature.

The content strategy focused on delivering information in a clear, structured, and accessible way.
Key service details, patient resources, and clinic philosophies were presented in an easy-to-read format, ensuring that visitors can quickly find the information they need.

Final Design
In ten months, we were able to launch the brand new Beyond Physical Therapy website, followed by an accessibility test to ensure inclusive access for everyone.
